For the benefit of scholars and other interested
individuals, the Jorge Amado House Foundation maintains a collection
of original documents and printed texts about the writer in its
Study and Research Center, as well as a collection of press clippings,
and photographic and audiovisual records. These materials enable
the public to conduct research and studies about Jorge Amado in
particular and Bahian Literature and Culture in general.
Through the Educational Action Division, the
Foundation carries out a program for primary and secondary schools
with a view to providing students a pleasant interaction with Jorge
Amado's literary world and literature through scheduled guided tours
followed by a lecture or video presentation.
The Events Division offers classes, seminars,
workshops, lecture cycles, presentations, book and CD launch parties,
and exhibitions, spotlighting themes related to literature, the
arts and human sciences.
The Cultural Dissemination Service is responsible
for promoting and publicizing the House's activities, as well as
its editorial output, particularly the publication of the EXU literary
journal and the House of Words Collection.
